There’s a story behind every smile.
Kaitlin’s got a pretty amazing one (smile and story, that is).
As a child growing up on the South Shore of Boston, family and friends always told Kaitlin DeAngelo she had beautiful teeth and that compliment always made her smile. But after years of battling bulimia and anorexia during her teens, that smile was gone. Literally.
One of the little known effects of eating disorders is the severe damage it can do a person’s teeth. This happened to Kaitlin. And, as a result, she felt ashamed. And she felt judged every time she went to the dentist.
Kaitlin endured lots of pain and suffering over the past 15 years in an effort to save her teeth and to regain her smile. Nothing worked. That was until Dr. Lane and Kaitlin’s dentist, Dr. David Scardella met through the Shamrock Study Club and started discussing Kaitlin’s unique and very complex case. They knew they could help. So they put together a plan to give Kaitlin the gift of a new smile… A gift for the New Year from a team of local dental professionals to not only renew her smile, but to boost her self-esteem and confidence – and improve her quality of life.
